Is 70k+ miles too many?

It seems I may have upped my standards a bit. Now I’m looking for a 2016+ in the $30-35k range, with less than 40k miles. I know they are few and far between for that price, but I’m patient. I am in the process of building my house, so this truck will definitely come in handy for that. Eventually, I will be pulling a 5-7k lb travel trailer, so should I consider a 2.7L EcoBoost, with towing package, or could I get away with the 3.5L EcoBoost without the towing package?
Whats nice about buying late model used is that you can spec out the exact options that you want and look for that exact truck - including payload! If you're going to be pulling a 5,000lb to 7,000lb trailer, I would opt for the 3.5L EB or 5.0L V8, definitely get either the Tow Package or Max Tow (3.5 EB required), 3.73 rear axle and 36 gallon fuel tank, Integrated Brake Controller. I would also get a truck with a 1,700lb payload or higher (XLT & Lariat trim packages). The payload number for each truck is located on the yellow sticker on the drivers side door jamb.
The tongue weight of a travel trailer will eat up a trucks payload quickly.

Is 70k miles too much ? no, plenty of life left in it.
Though its all in what you want, within your budget & what you're willing to deal with for issues that arise in used vehicles.
For me when I started looking for a truck recently,I had a price in mind similar to you $30k. Then seeing the prices/miles, thinking to myself its hard to justify spending that kind of money on a used truck with those miles VS just spending a little more & get a new truck, I couldn't be happier spending a little more & have piece of mind with a new truck vs buying a used truck with ? issues & higher miles.
Yes the Lariat/King Ranch/ Platinum are sweet trucks & options, though at the same time being used then issues arise & could be spendy, & I can live without them too. So I bought a new XLT packaged out.
Serious ? You NEED push start ?
Is it that strenuous or difficult to put a key in & turn the key ?
What did you do for starting vehicles your whole life before you ever owned a push start vehicle ?
To me, push start wouldn't even be on the list of wants/need, far as I've read/heard any keyless is far easier to steal...no thanks I'll stick to a simple key.

i do have some “creature comfort” requirements, and that’s why I need to stick with the Lariat. I need push to start. That’s it. It’s too bad, the XLT offers everything else I want, but I have to step up in trim level and spend a lot more money in order to get the PTS.

yep. I’m allowed to want what I want, and you can want what you want.

Yes you're allowed to want what you want and pay for what you want.
Just seems strange to want a upper grade package for such a trivial feature for - push to start.
Even when you say a regular XLT has everything you need/want.
Yet you're willing to pay more for it, I don't know used price difference, but new it's a $7500 difference between XLT vs Lariat, so you're willing to spend $7500 on the push to start option ? Since thats why you are buying it strictly for the push start.
For that price I think I'll have no problem turning a key, if that was my main buying point.

You buying certain things wanting is not the same as his trivial "want" & ON A BUDGET - he says.
Though would you spend $7500 to push a button ?
To each their own, XLT offers you everything you need & you're on a budget, yet you want to spend more $ just so you can push a button to start the truck.....ok let that sink in for a bit !
Instead put that $7500 towards a new XLT, yes you'll need a little more but not much.
I was looking at 2015 Lariats/ Platinum with 50K+ miles an asking $30K +, yet I buy a new XLT packaged out for $38K (Scab 3.5 eco boost w/ 302, max tow, sport package, FX4,4x4)
That push button must be very important to you if thats your only selling point.

Does the Ford PTS also include the touch lock and unlock feature? It's a feature that's hard to not have after having. I'm buying a small suv in next few months and can't do without it.
