Is 70k+ miles too many?

Hey folks,

I am am in the market for a 2015 or newer Lariat Crewcab. I have to maintain a budget of under $30,000. Most of the trucks in my area that I can get for my budget have around 70k + miles on them. I have to assume that most of those miles would have to be highway miles. For a 2015+ Ford F-150 with 70-75k (highway) miles, in your opinion, would that be a good buy? Or should I hold out for one with fewer miles?

thanks!

highway miles are easier on a truck than city miles. 70k highway miles is nothing it is still like new. also maitnance is a key factor to. even with that many miles your not going to find a fancy one( lariat and up) 2015 and newer for under 30k i just dont see that happening. you would likely find a slightly older model for under 70k miles fo 30k say like a '13 or '14

I’ve found a handful at local dealers so far. But I can’t speak to their maintenance records.

Any particular reason you want to buy a first year truck?
That of course is if you get a 15 which I personally wouldn't do.

Consider a 13-14.

That's what I did. Fully loaded Lariat SuperCrew with 42k

$29.5 via auto trader.

drove 15 hours roundtrip to get her.

you should consider getting a 09-14 generation f150 by far my favorate. unfortunately i can't justify the money for one so i am stuck with my 04. i have drove a few they are just amazing trucks to drive.

You are at the point where you can get a loaded (Lariat, etc) low mileage 13/14, a low mileage 2015 XLT 302A, or a high mileage lariat 2015+.

If I was in your shoes - I'd do the higher mileage 15+ Lariat.

2016+ maybe.
I have always avoided first years.

i want the 2015+, because I really dig the body style. Is there an authority as far as informing the masses how a first year truck has performed?
