I Would like to know your thoughts on why ford stopped putting the 7.3 and 6.0 power strokes in their trucks, I know the real reason. Just would like to hear the publics ideas!!

My guess is it all comes down to satisfying the EPA bull crap that has ruined diesels.
Diesel vehicles today have a muffler, cat, DPF filter and a cow pee tank (urea) all for clean air emissions. WHY???????
Oh dont forget the low sulfur diesel.
IMO it's all bullschit. EPA is one Gov't agency that should be done away with.

Am I close?

Your screen name has navistar in it, aren't they the ones who were making the 7.3 and 6.0 and 6.4? Didn't Ford go independent in making their new 6.7?

international made all the diesels for ford besides the new 6.7. but the 7.3 is legendary and famous for a reason.

actually, I misread the question.

the reaosn they got rid of the 7.3 and went 6.0 was to meet stricter emissions regs. and still have competitive power numbers.
my understanding for Ford going to the 6.4 was just a bridge-gap to hold them over til the scorpion was available for public consumption.
they (Ford) knew it was coming but wasnt sure how long it would truly be until it made its debut, and again, new emissions regulations meant they had to do something in the mean time to stay competitive in the diesel market.
