600hp out of a 4.9l 300?
does anyone think that this would be possible at all? if it is i would like to try it if i ever get a lot of extra money :P
Ultimately, you can achieve 600 hp and 7,000 rpm with a 300ci Ford six. Just imagine the possibilities in your sleeper street car.
here is the link for the site i got the idea from(it at the bottom):

Hmm. I was thinkin BS til I read the article... very interesting. Try it, and tell us what happens! Even if you can't get 600hp, you still have a bulletproof engine. I beat the **** out of my '95 4.9, and I never once had any engine issues. It was a breeze changing oil too... only car I've changed oil filters on without getting ANY oil on my hand.

Well, I honestly doubt it. Those guys have 20 to 40 years building performance engines but I doubt anybody would want to try that on the 4.9 6. It's simply not built that way....
COULD it be done? Probably but we are talking thousands and thousands of dollars and by time you got done replacing, supporting, strengthening EVERYTHING, it would only be a 4.9 in name.....
Good read on the article though!

Then again, there's all those pesky supporting systems like fuel delivery, transmissions, clutch, axels, driveshafts that have to support the engine's power output. lol
