Hello everyone. Former Tacoma owner here. Decided to trade in my taco for something a little more fun. So far I am impressed with how far Ford has come.
I had one minor concern with my new truck though. While feathering the gas pedal at around 1200-1500rpm I feel a slight vibration through my foot in the pedal. It does this in more than one gear. Any idea what may be causing this?

Is this when slowly accelerating? It's hard to tell without more info, but it sounds like the engine is lugging. Modern transmission tuning keeps the trucks in higher gears to help fuel economy. If your truck has a "sport mode" try putting it in that and see if it still does it.

It's not just accelerating, if I'm going say 30mph with my foot on the gas steady holding that speed, it will vibrate.
I will try the sport mode to see if that's the case. Lugging, sounds similar to crossing the street in 21st gear on a bicycle.

I'm pretty sure what you're feeling is a characteristic of the V6 and the more-efficient drivetrain in these trucks. The transmission shift strategy is programmed to give us every one of six speeds a.s.a.p. unless we become more involved in the process by using the optional shifter interface SelectShift.

With SelectShift, we can "lock out" any forward drive gear from the top, down... after selecting Drive with the lever, toggle the + button on your shift lever. This will illuminate a gear selection display in the right center portion of your dash display. The use the - toggle to turn off 10th, then 9th and 8th.... Try bombing around town with the three overdrives locked out. You may still feel what you describe as the truck slows to a stop, regardless of locking out the three overdrives. 7th gear is the 1:1 gear, effectively hooking your engine's crankshaft to the axle differential(s)... the engine crank is turning the same rpm as the driveshaft, unlike when in 1 - 6 or 8 - 10.

EDIT: I see 10 Speed... while I've not driven this particular 10-speed, I think the SelectShift gear selection toggle interface is the same. Give it a try! and let us know.

It does seem to help. When driving around town, I disallow 8-10 or even 7-10 and it runs smoother, at not much cost to rpm. Thanks for the input!!
