Default $500 per month - What Will I Get?

Its nearly time to end the lease on my Ford Explorer (woohoo) and I am still keen on gettng a F150.

Would any of you lovely people be able to give me some idea of what I will be able to spec up to for $500 per month (lease) over 2/3 years?

Ideally i would like Ltd but not sure $500 per month will cut it. Looking to put as little (or nothing ) down as possible.

Any ideas would be great!

Just a guess based on my own trip to the dealership recently, and assuming you have great credit, you would be in the $40k range with nothing down.

I never really even considered an FX4 - Whats the difference between a fully loaded FX4 and Ltd or Platinum?

Is it just trim level? or is there a difference in Chasis?

Ether vehicle prices are alot cheaper where you are but Im paying $500 a month for a 2012 XTR screw 4x4 and thats on a 7 years finance with 3000 down. If your looking at lease and from what lease rates look like now you might be able to a xlt with a few extras. Pretty sure a fully loaded FX4 is going to put you around 800 on a 2 or 3 year lease. Lease rates are the biggest factor.

Ok thanks - maybe I need to consider if a truck is the right thing. I currently lease a Ford Expllorer Ltd for $500 over 2 years. I was not expecting it to be that much more expensive.

I guess, if you look at it logically that the dealer expects you to use it as a work vehicle and therefore builds that into the depreciation cost. Maybe im worng on that.

Im in North Jersey BTW

dont forget to add in the factor of insurance and gas will be alot higher to. When i was shopping for truck i doubled what the payments were and that would cover gas, insurence, truck payment etc a month. I havnt spent more then $1000 since i had her im on 2 years now.

Leasing is generally a bad alternative unless you're a business writing it off as an expense.

You can use any loan calculator to figure out what you can spend for $500 a month. For a 5 year loan at 4%, you could spend $27,200. At 2%, you could spend $28,500.

Penfed is 0.99%. Buy it via their service and it's 0%.

$500 a month lease? Why rent a truck? Just buy it with cash and enjoy no payments. Don't go in debt for a deprecating asset.
