I find that the super crew + 5.5ft box looks awful. The cab is longer than the bed... Not attractive at all.

However, I must say that, owning a 157'' wheel base, it can sometimes be tricky when city driving, especially in Ottawa. The turning radius is very wide. My friend has the 145'' and it's a little more driver friendly.

I said "require". I get hauling fishing gear hidden under a tonneau cover or maybe even a water tank with the tailgate closed like the other posts, but there's no need to shut the tailgate when hauling lumber.

Last time I hauled 8' lumber it was 30 4x4 posts, they wouldn't have all fit in a 6.5' bed diagonally anyway.

I'm not impressed in the least with my Sony system and sub.

Last week my rental happened to be a 2018 Ram Laramie with the Alpine sound, THAT was actually a pretty good system. It was very close to a lot of the aftermarket systems I've put in previous vehicles.

I mean for the most part, most people that have trucks don't use them to the extent that a 6.5' box is 'required'.

But there are a lot that still do and that is why Ford offers it. I have had both a 5.5 and 6.5 and I was never happy with the 5.5, even hauling furniture/beds/etc you run into the **** I wish I had just even 6' of box, let alone trying to haul something like a quad/gear/fuel.
(I also hate driving with my tailgate down as I have to drive on gravel everyday)

.....those that need a 6.5 box are a dying breed.

My last truck was a 2005 F150 XLT, SCAB, 4x4 w/ tow package. It had a 6.5' box. I do a lot of boondocking at football games. I needed all 6.5 feet of space to carry my generators and extra gas, plus when we took our cross country trip in 2014, I also carried a small air compressor, and a tool box, plus other stuff that wouldn't fit in the trailer. That truck had a 145" wheel base, and it was pretty easy to maneuver.

My current truck is a 2014 F150 XLT, SCAB, 4x4 w. HDPP and Max Tow. Any Heavy Duty Payload truck must have the long wheel base. So my current SCAB has the 8' box. A HDPP SCREW always comes with a 6.5' box. Long story short, my current truck has a wheel base of 163". It makes for a great tow vehicle, but it is a bear maneuvering in a parking lot. I wanted a SCREW, which has the 6.5' box and 157" wheel base, but there were none available anywhere.
