Default 47 National Parks while living in my F150

Hey guys,
Thought some of y'all might be interested in my current project. It's called One Year, 47 National Parks. I am a photographer and I am documenting my trip through my blog (link above) and my Instagram: Scottly. The plan is to publish a photo book when I'm done. So, why 47 parks? Well, there are 47 national parks in the continental US and I love hiking, camping, and nature so I thought why not give this a shot.

Anyways, attached are some photos of the truck. It's a 2013 RCSB STX with an ARE camper shell that I built a bed for and put a roof vent on.

Do you know good things to do at a park you've been too, or of a safe place for me to stay a night and maybe grab a shower(camping in the parks gets expensive and showers are rarely available) or hot meal? Let me know! I love meeting new people.

Sounds like a good time!

Back in '77 the GF and I drove from MN to Key West to San Diego to Seattle and back to MN. We stayed at parks in a tent. Some parks wouldn't let us stay because we weren't 18 so we got a room occasionally. Some parks had showers and some didn't. Some showers were free and some were pay. It's a strange thing going into a shower with a "pocket" full of quarters.

I would think staying at parks would be cheaper than getting a room. It cost $3.00 plus tax per night to camp in 1977. What is it now?

Have fun!

Sounds like a trip of a lifetime. I don't have any suggestion on your questions, but if you haven't already go the the National parks website. You can by a yearly park pass that will save you some dough. Have a safe trip.

What kind of photo gear are you using?

Cool project, glad to know you're not living in a van down by the river

Interesting... I'm reading this in the airport on my way to my first camping trip. Going to Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park for some fly fishing.

Forty-seven national parks on a year sounds like a fun trip. I know I'll never be able to do that. Would be a good excuse to see the rest of the country though.
