3rd and 4th Gear Won't Engage
Hello, I am pretty new to this but I got the truck running. It is a 93 4x4 with a 5.0.
My problem is that 3rd and 4th gear won't engage at all (manual transmission) it's like the truck is in neutral.
What needs fixin'?

Broken shift fork.
Typically, unless someone was manhandling the shifter, by the time a fork breaks, both are well worn, as are the synchros. I'd go in planning to replace all of that, and all seals, and inspect the bearings to make sure they are good.

I think that you might be able to get to the forks through the cabin without removing the transmission. Not sure. Depends on the transmission I'd guess. There's an access plate that you can remove in the floor to get to it. If you want to try an "in the meantime" fix.
