I have 33' duratracs on my truck and I love them. They do great in the dirt, mud and snow. Forget about getting too much traction on ice. They do wine a little on the highway. As far as mileage I have only put about 10,000 miles on them so far and I don't see hardly any wear. As long as I get good miles out of them I will get the same tire again.

M/Ts usually have a bit of drone to em. the duratracs dont look any different than your basic A/T. personally i wont buy another Goodyear tire for my vehicles, they wear too fast IMO. Goodyear also has some bad tire roll. feels like youre on a damn boat when youre driving.

just do some shopping around, look at average mileage for the tire and customer reviews.

Yeah the only problem is I'm trying to keep my stock rims on because I have the chrome package with 18s that I really like and the toyos won't fit. Have u ever used bfg all terrains?

thats what i have. 35" BFG A/Ts. love them. i had a set of 33" Goodyear Silent Armour Progrades before these. i hated them! they wore down in 30k miles and they were terrible in the snow, could hardly get traction.

The BFGs i have now are awesome. my dad just put his second set of 33" BFG A/Ts on his Excursion after getting 45-50k on his first set. im not saying BFG is the only brand out there with a good reputable tire but they are one of the top. check out nitto, cooper and some of them other brands too. like i said check out customer reviews.

Default Tires

Buck, good looking truck. Question for you: Did you have to change your speedometer gear when you went to 33's?

Thanks

Thanks I have a tuner for my truck and I did adjust the tire size with it. The 33" tire will throw the speedometer off a bit...but not a ton.

Default 33 inch tires

Another question regarding going to 33" tires from stock on a 2011 FX4. I would expect a loss in gas mileage and perhaps acceleration. The question is how much loss in gas mileage? A friend of mine went to 33" on his 2011 EcoBoost and said he lost about 1 MPG. What are your thoughts?

Buck, I noticed the billet grille on your truck. It looks good. I checked out a few of them on the market and noticed some are pretty expensive. Any recommendations here?

I am toying with the idea of going to 33" but assume that I will have to change rims. I like the stock rims. They are color coded to the sterling gray. While I can't afford to do a whole lot more to my rig it becomes a matter of what I want the most. So it boils down to billet grille and bull bar or perhaps the tire and wheel swap. Decisions, decisions. Bear in mind that I have quit doing off-roading as a sport. Therefore, the main thing is to get my truck to stand out from the zillion stock FX4's on the street and have a more aggressive look. Any suggestions? Forget the price difference. I am aware that a grille change and bull bar costs far less than tires and wheels.
