Default 2106 f 150 bench to console conversion

New guy. Started w F 100 40 years ago. How involved is it to convert split front bench to console seating on new 2016's? Can dealer even do it? I've asked dealer, he's checking on it. Thank you.

For what it's worth, I work for a collision shop owned by a Ford dealer. My manager bought an XL a few months back and ran into the same issue. He was told "sure we can do that" and when time came, we could not locate the parts necessary to make the swap. May be different now but I'm sure it won't be inexpensive if it is possible. Good luck!

Thanks for reply.

Ended up buying, almost, just the truck I was looking for. 2016 F150 SCREW, FX4, XLT, bucket/console, 6.5 box, towing, 3.5.

I was looking for a 5.0 but ended up "settling" for the 3.5. I'm sure it will be fine, but I've been running 5.4's since '97, so that is what I was comfortable with. Me and the bird dogs will let you know in 200,000 miles.

Ecoboost. After 100 miles very impressed. I'm an old guy, new tech doesn't come naturally.

I just bought a '16 with the 5.0, couldn't bring myself to go ecoboost. Finding a 5.0 was a challenge though. I just can't get over having a V6 in a full size truck personally. I like a throaty V8 rumble.

I hear ya 100%. Hopefully I have good luck with my first ecoboost. Time will tell.

I know what you mean. I was hesitant about the EcoBoost motor but many of the people I work with love theirs (Collision shop attached to a Ford Dealership) and we've worked on quite a few that held up in accidents. I was impressed with the power and while it may have less HP than the 5.0, it does have more torque.
