Default 2019 F150 Limited vs 2019 RAM Limited vs 2019 Chevy High Country

So I have been seeing comparisons of the new top of the line Ford vs RAM vs Chevy. There have been several post where the RAM wins by a point or two. I took the CD specs of each, and then added MY personal experience with all three. I happen to have some friends, and we all have our brand. We each got the opportunity to drive each others truck for 200 miles. In the end I rated the Ford #1, my RAM friend rated the RAM #1, and the Chevy gut well he was disappointed, as like us he liked both the Ford and the RAM better, and rated the Ford #1 (said it was the interior that won him over). Both the Chevy and the Ford seemed to have more power than the RAM.

Now we didn't haul for 200 miles, but we did hook up a trailer and pull it a few miles. I didn't use the trailer backup assist, as I didn't want to use my stickers for a trailer that wasn't mine. I will say I did like the 12" screen in the RAM on how you can split it, but there are still some short comings. Now I know a lot of people are singing the praises of the RAM interior, but I didn't like some of the things, because to me it looked a little cluttered, and I wasn't crazy about the dial shifter though my friend loves it.

I also wasn't crazy about the stitching on the center console, even though a lot of reviewers rave about it.

So here is a PDF of my ratings. I took CD's ratings and changed them to what I think. I then added a miles per tank rating. As far as mileage goes, we tried to do the same route, and I will say the Ford got the benefit, of wind aid in both directions, so our trips were really not scientific. We all have over 2K miles now, and our MPG is really close, but even then you can't go by that because of driving habits, roads driven on etc.

Bottom line is two of us rated the Ford #1. I like my Ford better than both, but I expect many will like theirs better as well.

Thoughts?

Very interesting comparison. It looks like you did a lot of work to put that together. Great job! Before I ordered my new 2019 F150 I looked at Ram, nice interior but didn't like the way the exterior looked or the dial shifter and I didn't even consider a Chevy.

I know this is a personal comparison, but some things really standout in your spreadsheet.

The tow rating for the Ford and RAM is a pipe dream.
As tested Tow Rating/Payload/Tongue Weight (assume 10%)

Ford: 9400 lbs./1150 lbs./940 lbs. = 210 lbs. remaining for passengers, luggage, weight distribution hitch, etc. (UNREALISTIC)
Chevrolet: 9300 lbs./1590 lbs./930 lbs. = 660 lbs. remaining for passengers, luggage, weight distribution hitch, etc.
RAM: 10600 lbs./990 lbs./1060 lbs. = 70 lbs. over the rated payload without passengers, luggage, weight distribution hitch, etc. (UNSAFE)

Also, are you certain about the Chevrolet's interior volume. The front is 19.7% bigger than the Ford or Ram. The rear is slightly bigger than Ford or Ram. I have not been in the 2019 version, but my 2015 GMC was noticeably smaller in interior space compared to my Ford.

Nice work on the comparison!

The 2019 Ram Limited cab spec should be 63.9 front and 68.5 rear. The cab was stretched 4", 1" in the front and 3" rear. I would have thought the rear cooled and reclining seats would have added comfort but that is subjective. GM added 3" to their cab but I haven't found the advertised specs yet.

The advertised towing capacity is best case scenario. A totally loaded 2019 Ram Limited long box 4x4 with 3:92s E-torque etc has a tow rating of 8080 lbs.

It is not the best case scenario for the RAM. It is impossible to tow 10600 in the truck as configured with a driver. The payload rating does not support it.

Best case will be a 2 wheel drive base truck, definitely not a Limited period. That is why the 10600 is useless in this discussion.

Couldn't care less about the reclining seats but why doesn't ford have cooled seats in the back? also ford has parallel park but not perpendicular parking, in floor storage would be a nice add on, no heads up display on the f150 either. Maybe they are holding out for the 2020 f150? One thing that was discouraging from ram and gm was that they "claim" luxury trucks but neither had massaging seats, the f150 does, gm is far behind ford and ram imo, rams new touchscreen is nice and the interior is fresh but that **** to change gears doesn't look as classy as the console shifter on the f150, I think every truck is far from perfect but gm dropped a dud when ford and ram are progressing into the future.

I wonder how the Tundra and Titan would fare.
