My 2018 XLT 5.5' bed does NOT have stake holes in front. Only in the rear. I am also looking for a solution to add a tie down on top of the rail at the front

Default 2017 SuperCrew stake pockets..6.5 ft box.

QUOTE=BadAttitudeYouc Can’t tell by looking at the bed.The stake pockets are readily visible from the inside of the box. They are rectangular shaped “tubes” a little smaller than a 2 x 4. The tubes do not extend to the bed.
i just installed an Adarac on my ‘17 SCrew. I believe your ‘18 is identical. The rear stake pockets are cover by a little rectangular plastic cap that pops out with a small screwdriver. The front pockets have no such cap. You have to drill a pilot hole in the plastic rail above the pocket and use a utility knife to cut the plastic out to the edge of the pockets.

Mine is a 2017 XLT so YMMV. All 4 holes, fronts and rears have the POP OFF covers so no drilling or cutting. Stake pockets are 1.5" (2x4" width) x 2.25" x 6.5" fronts and 5.5" rears.

I need to carry my 13' fishing kayak about 10x per season so I need a rack, cab height.
Since the yak only weighs 70#, fir 2x4 s will be adequate..no need to spend $ 200-300 on an aluminum one. Wife's 8' yak can go underneath in the truck bed.

I need to have my ATV in the truck each weekend so the racks 'n yaks go up on the 10' garage ceiling with pullies.

Per the pics,
