Default 2018 front stake hole pockets

I have a 2018 Lariat SuperCrew 5.5 bed. Can anyone confirm that it still has Front Stake Pockets under the plastic rail covers. I want to cut it out and put some tie downs (DIY Bike rack over BakFlip MX4). Thanks!

You can confirm it by looking inside the bed to see if stake holes are formed into the bed.

Ok thanks. Why Ford decides to cover this hole is beyond me. The back one, as you say is perfectly capped and easily accessible. They make the customer drill and cut a brand new truck. I asked 2 Ford dealers if the pocket holes exist and if the measurements are the same as previous years and they both had no clue.

Ford has a router bit specifically for cutting out the cover on the front stake pockets.

I think uts Bull Ring that has the patented router bit. They named it Bull Ring Router Bit
Again, why they are not pre-cut is such a scam.

It could be that the dealers are using the BullRing bit.

Installed an adarac on my 2018 Lariat. Drilled a hole in the centre of the pocket so l could see my exact location, then drilled a hole in each corner. Then used a jig saw to cut the plastic cover using the metal pocket side as a guide. If you don't get the cut line just right, the large size utility knife cuts the plastic pretty easy.

Cool thanks for confirming the holes exist on 2018 Lariat. What measurements did you use for the pilot hole? Same as previous years?

I believe the measurements are the same but I just used a tape measure to locate the approximate centre of the pocket. Once I knew I was in the right area I drilled the four corner holes which allowed me to insert the jigsaw blade.
