2018 F150 Lariat - Auto Start/Stop almost killed me twice

I'm not sure it's the SS doing that. I had it happen once in a drive thru. and more recently, the power steering has been very choppy while making turns while going slowly. turning into parking spaces, going slowly thru an intersection etc. SS wasn't engaged or even on but low engine RPM's seem to be the common thread when it happens for me.

I have also had the same thing happen twice since i bought my truck. I have not taken it to dealer because they wont be able to replicate it. Both times i was waiting to make a left hand turn in traffic and did not have power steering when the truck restarted.

'They' mandated seat belt compliance, air bags, padded dashes, EVAP, etc. then to further meet 'their' CAFE requirements the auto mfg'ers implemented the *** system.
IMO yep, the *** system can be potentially dangerous in certain scenarios the reason i disable it on my GC....when i remember.
Think of it, what a BS system to save a few drops of fuel and then adding more mechanical/electronic complexity to these new vehicles.

Five times so far, I have experienced the same thing. Twice, I almost got into an accident because of it. I expect the steering to work once the truck restarts; not take 5-6 seconds to regain full steering control.

Best money I spent on my truck yet. 10 minutes to install and "set it and forget it". Always remembers your last setting regardless of ignition cycles. If you turn it OFF, it stays OFF.

Our elected "representatives" in Washington haven't accomplished anything of worth or tackled even one of our thorny national problems--other than pork barrel projects for special interests--for many years.
What do you think would prompt them to start now? LOL
