2018 F-150 Noise in Transmission
When motor gets to operating temperature and reved up to 11 RPM or driving slowly through a parking lot, there's a clicking/popping sound coming from the transmission. When I first got the truck, there was a slight noise but has gotten louder since its at 5,000 miles. Originally I thought it was the motor until I drove a 2018 Raptor and it made the same noise which leads me to believe it's the transmission. I've had a few Ford trucks and never had this issue. I'm highly disappointed with this one. Is anyone experiencing the same issue?

So the truck runs great?
Have you taken it to the dealer to see if there's a problem, TSB, issue of any sort? It makes a noise the same as another truck and you're disappointed.

2018 F-150 Noise in Transmission
I took it in when it had 1,500 miles and they did testing but couldn't find the source of the problem. Now it has 5,000 miles and has gotten worse. They said I need to bring it back in so they can look into it further. The first time I brought it in, they gave me a loaner - the 2017 with the 10 speed transmission and it didn't make that noise. I'm just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this problem.

Whenever they can't find the source / fix it, Ford will always tell you ''it's normal'' or ''within allowed range of noise''.
Members here have gas pedal vibration issues and they're told that it's completely normal and ''within the normal vibration range''. It's an easy way out.

Bad manufacture transmission pump
2018 F150 XLT 8 cylinder10 speed transmission had the whining and clunking noise issue. Service removed trans pump and found scoring and scratching marks, they replaced the pump. The same thing happened with new pump, no change. Updated New transmission ordered, due to damaged converter and lack of fluid pressures, metal shavings in the tans. One of fords Manufacture of the pump misaligned the gears in the pumps it put out.

My 5.0 18 has a click/clunk sound after i let go of the gas. Thinking its the drive train bouncing back from the torque of the wheels. Taking it in on the 29th of this month. Other than that, truck is fine.

I have a 2018 with the 10 speed and 5.0 that now has over 7K miles - has the clicking/ratcheting sound when i let go of the gas at slow speeds and also has a terrible whining noise as well at slow speeds. I can't believe this is normal but other than the noises it seems to drive fine especially after I had to have the TSB done for the misfires and transmission shift point issues. Next time at the dealer I will be asking about the noises, and it's good to know I'm not the only one having these issues.

I've had this for awhile and Ford keeps saying it's normal. If it was then it should've done this since new, not a few thousand miles later.
