you would have to do the math, but with a 10 speed trans it is easy to compensate as needed. When it comes time for me to tow (i have a 3.15 ) i can just downshift a gear and be in the right rpm range.

I had two 2018 5.0's, one had 3.55, and my current truck has 3.31. Go with the 3.55, it's the perfect all around gear ratio for the 5.0, on the 3.5 Ecoboost I would go 3.31 since that motor makes lots of torque down low.

3:73 preferred, but nothing any higher than a 3:55, and I don't care which transmission it has, or motor for that matter.

I get 20mpg city all the time (hand calculated). TFLTruck just did a video where a 2018 F150 XLT 2wd with the 5.0 and a 3.15 rear did a drag race against a 2019 Ram with the 5.7 and eTorque (I believe the rear axel was a 3.55) and the F150 smoked it (we also had a weight advantage as well). Here is the video: https://youtu.be/a4Pp9Xrq_Rc

With such a broad spectrum of gears in the 10-speed the F150 is fast no matter what you get (we are lighter than the competition as well). You'd be good with a 3.31 or 3.55 unless you want the bragging rights of the 3.73 but it's over kill for what you stated you use the truck for. Ford did a great job with making the F150 good at everything. Fast with good gas mileage is hard to do but they did it.
Thanks for the Video, the Eco Boost takes them down one by one!!

I have never wanted or thought I needed a higher ratio gear like 3.31 or 3.15 but I always find a need and want for 3.73 or even 4.10.

Nobody I know complains about too much pulling power! Get the 3.73 headset. Friend of mine has 5.0 with 3.73's 2018....gets exceptional fuel mileage and rips pretty good!
