If you're asking me, I haven't changed out just the bulbs. I replaced the whole bucket with some aftermarket ones. There's videos out there that show the process, maybe I'm olde and slow, but I spent a couple hours doing it. Probably should have tried some other bulbs at the same time, but you know what they say about hindsight!

The people that say they wont remove the whole headlight assembly have me baffled. I love to tinker and take stuff apart. Also, if you are installing LED's and they have a driver/ballast, it should ALWAYS be mounted outside the seal/boot. Otherwise the heat build up will cause early failure. In order to do this and seal them up properly, the headlight assembly must be removed from the vehicle and the driver/ballast or even CANBUS decoder routed out, through the boot, then silicone or RTV to seal the slit in the boot.

Not a PITA at all...was very simple actually.. The CrystaLux XHP led's I bought have a very nice cut off line and do not blind oncoming traffic AT ALL.

Also, I did mount outside the boot and resealed it with silicone.. 4x4truckleds supplies everything you need for this including instruction with their ballast relocation kit. Did all of this exactly as you say, without removing the headlight. I went in through the wheel well. Did not even have to remove the tire..
