So I just purchased a 2016 f150 lariat with the sync 3 five days ago. Today I noticed the center display was shutting off randomly while driving, and now will not go on all together. Radio, voice activation and voice nav still works the display is just off and won't turn on. Pretty disappointed as I haven't even had the truck for a week. I'm guessing this is a display problem but is there any way to reset it? And is this a common problem?

Also, I bought the truck from a dealer 2 hours away and would like to take it to a closer one. Would they still be able to fix it? for free of course.

Your warranty is good at any Ford or Lincoln dealer in the country. Sucks to have a problem, but it happens. You can also try pulling fuse number 33 (just look in your owners manual) in the passengers kick panel. See if a reset helps it. Good luck.

tried the fuse but I am thinking it is a defective display. Will try to get it to a dealer asap.

FYI I have a one week old F150 lariat with sync3. My center touch screen just went blank while playing music off my plugged in iphone... accessory power was on on but engine not running. After the screen went dark I pulled usb out then it switched to Sirius, then I presses the Start button to switch off accessory power. Radio stayed on, pressing radio power had no effect. Opening door shut off radio. After that the screen never lit up, nor showed the ford logo when entering. I wound up disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes; now all working & back to normal.

Try a quick reset. Press and hold seek up >> while holding the power button.

ok so went to start truck and the radio screen did nothing I can not change media source or change tracks and the camera will not switch on when in reverse. only thing I can do id put a cd in and the screen is super dim and still can only change volume nothing else. I have only had truck 1 month almost. I'm probably gonna take it in just seeing if anyone else has this issue.

Mine is doing the same thing. It's been in service @ the dealership for 36 days today. Service dept. excuse was a part called a thickum (sp), then they said, oops, not a thickum, but an apum, (sp). There was no release date for the part, then mysteriously it arrived on 1/6. However when I went to pick it up, it still didn't work! Who knows when this will resolve!
