Default 2016 F150 cb mount

Hey guys Im new to the forum and need some input on mounting my cb to the truck. I have found an antenna mound for the hood and was wondering if this would be my best option or if there are any other ways to mount it. Also, I have a bench seat up from so no center console, therefore I need some ideas on where to put the Cb. Thanks Preston

That mount looks like it would work fine. I've seen a lot of people mount to various places on the bed. You can get a stake pocket mount or bolt a universal bracket to the wall inside the bed.

I'm not really up on how the dash is laid out on a modern F150 without a center console and how much room you have. But one thing to consider regardless of the console is getting a CB that puts the transmitter out of sight and has all of the controls in the handset. That way, you just have to figure out where to hang your handset.

Look at the Cobra 75:

The Uniden CMX560:

And the Midland 75-822:

Between my Jeeps I have the Cobra and the Midland. I like the Midland because it's easy to convert it to a handheld by sliding on the battery pack and putting on the mobile antenna. Otherwise it has a pack that connects to a vehicle mount antenna and plugs into the 12v outlet in the dash.

This is the antenna I plan to use if/when I stick another radio in.

Along with this radio.

FWIW I've never once seen anyone who has good things to say about through-the-glass antennas.

Interesting concept on paper but in the real world they don't work well.

I never had either until another member here was saying it worked pretty good. For the money, I thought it might be worth a try.

I wish you luck with it.

BTW, double check any tint the window might have and ensure that it's not metallized film. That will seriously degrade the performance of the antenna. And keep it away from the heating elements of a rear defroster if you have one.
