Default Stories of Dealerships going "above and beyond"

It seems there's not a lot of businesses out there in any industry that care about providing good service anymore. I was hoping some of you might share your stories of when your Ford Dealership went "above and beyond" your expectations. Please include specifics. I'm sure there are some great dealerships out there and I want to hear where they have set the bar.

Thanks.

I worked at a Chevy dealership and went through the same training as the 15 other dealerships owned by the same guy, including ford. There was not a single thing in a week long school style class we took about customer care. The only thing customer related at all was find out what car/truck they want and sell them the highest model they can afford. When a girl was in the dealership in tears about not having money my "mentor" rather than working with her on getting a lower end model or financing he had her call around her family until someone agreed to consign for her.
I bought my ford from a used dealership and their service was very low, yet still the best I ever had...

I have never had a above/beyond dealer in all the car/truck buying. I have had the "I will do what I am allowed to do under warranty" dealer. I am sure there are some small dealers that treat there repeat customers real well. Todays economic/job climate, show me any sales person or service advisor that has been with a dealer 20+ years that has been there long enough to build relationships with customers. Around here they jump from dealer to dealer. When I bring truck in for service it seems theres always new sales and service people to work with. The only constant is the owner and who gets to see him/her anyways. There never around. JMHO!!

Maybe not way above the bar, but the dealers service department stayed open late for me when my XLT had to be towed in. They were there 35 minutes past quitin' time, got my truck in the yard & locked up so it wouldn't be outside overnight. They also got on top of the problem right away & fixed it...door lock module went crazy, wouldn't let any power thru to other systems, so the truck was DEAD where it sat. They also called for a rental car for me...if Hertz had just hung around 10 min past closing, would not have had to go back for the rental the next day. By the way, my dealership is Johnson Brothers Ford in central Texas...thanks guys!

That is true. As a dealer we had "lists" of our customers to call every few years. As a new salesman you get the list from someone who previously quit, usually before they ever saw a customer a 2nd time.

Don't know if it's way above and beyond but I thought it was pretty good of them. I live in CO and the dealers don't budge on price all that much plus they didn't really have what I wanted in my price range. Searched the net and found a dealer up in NW MN that had 2 of what I was looking for. Decided to go with the pickup I have now. The salesman emailed me pictures and the first time we ever talked on the phone was negotiating the sale. We both got a good deal and the agreement that I would fly out 2 weeks later. They had a driver drive the pickup an hour down to Grand Forks where I flew into to pick me up as well as someone else to pick up the driver. Looked it over, signed the paperwork, handed over the check (paid cash) and I was on my way. Great experience with Josh Whitlock at C&M Ford Sales in Hallock, MN. Too bad they're so far away

Was looking for a sports car recently. Found a Camaro that was 45 mins away, great price but they obviously did not want to sell since they came up with this stuff of my uncle having to many cars out on his name.
So we went to where my uncle usually gets his cars, Ed Payne, found a 13 Charger RT Max at a great price. Thought they were going to treat me well but didn't go that way. Car wasn't in the lot so they gave me a rental since we traded in one of our trucks. Before signing the papers I asked several times, if we sign for this car, will it be here tmrw? They said yes it will arive tmrw morning. They have people waiting on call to drive them down. Once it gets here, will we take it to get tinted, washed and full tank. So around 4-5 it will be ready. So we signed and went in our rental car. Called them at 5. Car had just gotten there. And the tint guy had left already. And wouldn't be coming into work until the next week. I was like whaaaat. But then the sales guy said, but I talked to him and he said he will come in at 4 and will tint it. So I was like cool. It got to that point. And we were on our way to get it around 7. We got there but the car wasn't even washed. -.- we just wanted to take it already so they compromised at 2 more car washes, one more full tank, and 4 oil changes. Have yet to go for them though. So I was like okay that's cool. But recently got a Rock chip on my window and had purchased a warranty for that so called in and they have yet to call me back for my appointment. -.- I even emailed someone who emailed me asking if I received my plates already and if I needed anything and he hasn't replied either. -.- I wish I could meet a dealership where there motto was. Most important thing isnt the sale, it's how you treat The customer after the sale.

Well I brought my truck to my local ford dealership a while back to have the IWE solenoid replaced, it was still under warrantee, and they filled up my windshield washer fluid for free, oh yea!!
