I don't see why they're saying that this truck has an aluminum body. It looks like a normal 09-12.

They may be playing around with aluminum on the current body styles shown in the pictures just to see what they can do, but I highly doubt that those are the true 2015 models. Ford is supposed completely redesign the f150 for that year.

I understand that. What I was saying is that how are we supposed to know that the truck is actually aluminum? I can go outside right now and take some pictures of my truck and go "Look! It's made of aluminum!" It looks like they took some shots of a reg cab xlt and claimed that it was made with aluminum.

I think going to aluminum body has its benefits and I am sure Ford will do a great job with the 2015 model. My concern is the weight reduction. Loosing 800lbs like the article suggests means that the driver would rely even more so on electronics like trailer sway control so keep a heavy load at bay because the weight alone of the truck will not be enough to control a heavy trailer with a cross wind. I understand trying to get as much fuel economy out of the vehicle is the goal but at what cost?

F150s are known for their ability to perform work. Whatever Ford does with the new generation, I'm sure it will be just as capable if not more capable than they are now

plus you have to rember that some people don't use their trucks AS trucks (and these days, that's A LOT of people, maybe the majority). so for those people and the poor old environment (fuel economy), it can only help.

you are right though, for people who pull big trailers, there is some downside to it. but despite a couple negatives about it, in the end, it's a great idea.
