2014 limited negotiations
Hello all first post here.
Been saving my pennies and just stopped into my local ford dealer. Looked at a new 2014 screw limited short bed. Msrp 55,605 after sitting down and working numbers got down to 48,020
55605 msrp
51520 invoice
-500 college
-2500 ford finance
-500 for something else not quite sure
Doing a search to a wider area I have seen these trucks down in the 43 range but pretty far south.
Is this a good deal? Great deal? Suggestions on a better price?
Once again thank you for your time/experience/advice!

48020 is before TTL. The dealer called me an hour or so ago and dropped another thousand. So down to 47,020.
I've seen posts where people are getting 12-13k off. Another member told me that's usually for xlt's.
Do you know of anyone else's experience with purchasing limited or platinum models?

I dont know how the dealers are where youre at but around here theyre advertising the platinum and king ranch models at 10-12k below MSRP and thats before negotiations. I would say you could do better.

Somethin' Bout a Truck...
Not sure what the difference is between a Limited and FX4 but the dealer where I bought mine has FX4's that seem loaded to me w/ sticker prices of $53k-ish marked down to $38k-ish...That's $10k less than what you got quoted and the FX4's appear to have everything. Check out Fairway Ford in Ohio....worth the drive to me.

Lots of posts like this, you may want to do some reading.
You never say where you are, rebates differ by geographical area. You can find them online quite easy on the Ford site. If you go with Ford Financing for 0%, you lose nearly all rebates except the college rebate, if you go for higher percentage financing you would get any financing rebate, but $2,500 is too high. Go to http://www.ford.com/trucks/f150/2014/incentives/ and see what your actual rebates are.
Invoice + $500 - REBATES is a fairly good place to look at. Saying anyone got anything off MSRP is just silly talk, because it ignores rebates that vary by season and geography. XLT is the majority of the rebates as you noted.
Lot of expense for someone in/coming out of college.
