2014 5.0l cold starting issue, P0300 code, random misfire
Updated: Took to O'Reilly's and P0300 code showing up even though check engine light has not been on.
I guess this is random misfire code but has only happened on my truck 2 times, both in the morning after sitting overnight. Any suggestions before
I take to shop would be helpful. Thanks,
The last few days have been relatively cold in TX. 1st morning, truck would start but not stay running or hold above 500 RPM. Took me about 5 mins to finally get enough RPM to get going. This morning, would not start at all but then finally did and seemed to spew / burn some oil out of the pipe. Up until now, been running great - 64k miles.
Only thing different is I changed the oil (used base 5-20W) and put new air filter on.
This is not much info to go on.

- How full do you routinely keep the gas tank? *Keeping it at ¼ tank or less can cause condensation in the tank, as well as overheating the fuel pump shortening it's life.
- How's the air filter?
- Do you have an oiled air filter? If so, clean the MAF sensor.
- When was the PCV valve changed?

I just replaced the air filter and that is when the problem seemed to start. I've check all vacuum hoses and cleaned the MAF sensor as well, no change. Have not changed the PCV valve since I bought it in 2015.
