Default 2014 3.5EB Rattlesnake

Hey all! Bought my 2014 SCREW XTR w/ 3.5EB two months ago. Last week I hear a noise somewhere behind the radio/vents upon startup: Sounds like a paper rattlesnake about 3 seconds after engine start and only lasts about 2 seconds, _with climate control off_, and only occurs on cold starts. Any idea wtf this is? I can’t hear it from outside with the hood up either...

Thanks for your time!

Sounds like you’re describing the dreaded Ecoboost timing chain rattle. Can you get a video of it and post it up?

I’m stumped! I can hear it but it DOES NOT sound like the timing chain issue to me. Hopefully someone will chime in with a different idea.

Yeah, it’s a puzzler! it reminds me of the chirp a climate system fan that needed replacing had in one of my old cars but the power is off at start up. Unless there may be a startup cycle of the fans, or something like that?

None. It happens when the blower is on as well, same sound, just with rushing air on top. The sound in question fades away at same time as well.
