regardless, I couldn't call its discontinuation a bad thing....good or bad,the new 6.7 seems to be a great engine too.

0.9% is for suckers!
I've had em both, and the 6.4 is a slow pig compared to the 6.7s no doubt. You can mod them both, but the 6.7 is lightyears ahead of the 6.4.

From what I hear the 6.4 is a PITA to work on by yourself as most of the things are a cab-off job. Ford broke their contract with international/navistar and made their own engine, thus the 6.7.
Last decade of ford engines.
7.3 -- stopped due to emissions.
6.0 -- stopped due to emissions, good engine aside from a few shortfalls in mostly the early models.
6.4 -- somewhat temperamental like the 6.0 from what I hear, and that had that whole fire shooting from the exhaust thing...
6.7 -- beast engine (5.6 0-60 after a tune) not much time to say if it's got many problems or not. So far so good.
