My FX4 does the same thing. Only happens in park and only after a engine load. My street is very steep and after driving to the top i placed the truck in park and noise started up.

Any news?

Hi Supe,

Have you demonstrated this for your local dealer so they can inspect? Let me know if I can be of any assistance; I'm always just a PM away.

Default Transmission noise

To Ford Service. When the noise occurs on my truck, its when I put it into park. Putting it back into gear the vibration noise will disappear in 3-5 seconds. My vibration can be felt in the Trans Cooler and both hose to and from the cooler. Best I could do is call the dealership and have them come to me. I have audio and witnesses to the noise. I know it tough to repair what you cant see, but it might be time for an educated Engineering part replacement from the audio I have provided. My audio shows as soon as the truck is put in gear the vibration slowly goes away. My wife puts it back in park and vibration noise winds back up. Let me know if you want me to PM you the audio and you can forward this to the right Ford Engineers.

Default Vibration in Transmission Cooler

Has anyone found a solution for the vibration? My four week old FX4 is experiencing the same problem and the techs are scratching their heads. Please help!

After many calls, I found a dealer that recognized the symptoms. I was advised of a TSB regarding transmission cooler "shudder/vibration" that can be remedied by software update or cooler replacement, if necessary. I'm not sure how a SW update will fix the problem, but I'll find out Friday. I will post the TSB once the tech calls me back...Stay tuned.

Are you able to reproduce the vibration or is it random. My fx4 has not made the noise for 2 weeks. Was the dealer able to hear your Trans cooler vibration.

The dealer was able to reproduce the problem and I can reproduce it every time I park on an incline (driveway). The vibration will go away if I tap the accelerator while in park which leads me to believe it is pressure related. I am taking the truck to the shop this morning for my scheduled appointment and will post an update when I learn more.

No luck. Dealer speculates the transmission fluid pressure is not bleeding fast enough when engaging into park. unable to duplicate this morning and no known fix at this time.

PM me your info, Lambo13; I'll look into this to see if I can help. Please include your full name, best daytime phone number, VIN, mileage, and servicing dealership.
