Wow a lot of you guys must have gotten up on the "wrong side of the bed." I have the 5.0 now and love the truck see signature details below. Last night I was at local dealer and he has almost all Eco engines I drove one again and loved it! We sat down and he is showing me a great deal to trade and I think in the next week or two I will be owner of a Ecoboost 4x4 XLT Screw!
Damn ymeski56 where are you getting this stuff? I subscribe to every battle thread just to see what you add.

After a while, you'll notice who post's to these Ecoboost Vs. 5.0 Threads w/ it intention of contributing something, or just another Troll post. If they get too out of hand, we just close the Thread.
For some, it's just a pavlovian response. They see an Ecoboost vs. 5.0 Thread...salivation begins & away they go!

You got that right, I'm old school and always lived by the "There's no replacement for displacement" rule and never thought I would ever buy a truck with a lawnmower engine in it, but I must say I'm very happy with my Ecoboost. It does kick *** and I'm really not worried about the sound, or lack of it. If I want to have the sound I will jump into my '01 F150 with the 5.4.
The mileage and immediate power are very much worth the switch to me. I love the way the Ecoboost handles a full load AND a trailer at the same time. The power is quite nice. It's difficult staying out of the throttle to save fuel, the torque is rather amusing. Passing anything up a steep grade is a lot of fun, especially at low rpm and hardly any noise.

I had a 2001 club cab 4.6. May 2012 I wanted a super crew twin screw. Ford was giving -1500.00 for a 5.0. That put it over the top. I got a Screw 5.0 157" XLT Crome and with the chrome another -1500 off plus other incentives. So a sticker of 43500.00 truck I got for 32500.00 after all said and done.
The difference between MPG IS I went from 13 city to 16 city 17 if I baby it and highway is the same. Big difference is torque especially when the AC is on. My 4.6 was a turd under load and the 5.0 you will never see any difference.
Bottom line between 5.0 and the turbo for me was bottom line price and the fact I plan on having this truck for 10 years. The twin turbo will be very expensive if failure happens on this untested reliability.
MPG is completely irrelevant get what you want. For MPG get a Prius and put a El Camino body on it

Eco mpg
2012 SCREW Lariat, Max Tow 4X4 offroad. Ecoboost engine.
22 hwy @ 60 mph, 18.5 @ 75 mph, 9.5 @ 60 mph pulling a 5500lb camper. 13 around town (no hwy, all stop and go)
This thing has incredible low rpm torque for a gas burner, let alone a 6 cyl.
