Default 2013 F150 XLT 4"to 8" screen upgrade sync1 to sync3

Hello,
I have been reading and searching for hours. I am tired of looking at the outdated 4" screen in my 2013 F150 XLT.
Is it worth it to upgrade to Sync 3? Is there a decent aftermarket setup for a decent price that utilizes the steering wheel controls instead?

I don't want to spend $1200 on a kit.
I see F150 Sync 2 to Sync 3 kits on Ebay for $350.
A 2015 F150 climate control bezel for around $200
A Ford SYNC1 to SYNC 3 Upgrade 4" TO 8" PNP Conversion Power Harness for $40.
Sync 3 bracket for $24
Anything else I need here?
I have forscan and OBD2 adapter.
Anyone go this route on a similar setup?
Thanks

Plenty of aftermarket stuff at different price points. You can use an interface like iDatalink to keep steering controls or if you don't need all it offers, a simple Maestro steering controls interface should suffice. Besides keeping the controls, what are your goals? What do you use most often?

Thanks!
Mainly looking to get rid of the outdated 4" screen but keep the sync functionality if possible, and not spend a fortune.
Android car play would be nice also.
So the Maestro KIT-F150 Installation Dash Kit Bundled with + (1) ADS-MRR Interface Module says it retains factory amplifier and backup camera retains SYNC features with any iDatalink-compatible car stereo displays.
Is this true?
So looks like it would be at least $1000. Make me wonder if converting over to sync 3 would be better.

I'm not sure on that specific kit. My kit was the MFT1 kit and I didn't care to keep any of the Stync stuff. I was only interested in keeping the steering controls, the large dash volume ****, and the OEM camera setup, which my kit achieved. No factory amp in my truck. I started the kit with a Kenwood double din that I had from previous vehicles and am currently running a JVC 1000W double din. I am running aftermarket amps for speakers/subs.

For my 2005 Tundra, I added the physical controls to the steering wheel, ran the wiring from there to the dash, and used a Maestro SW steering controls interface to program the controls for use with a Kenwood double din.
