Default 2013 F150 Problems

I have a new 2013 F150 SCREW 4X4. It is now at the Dealership for the third time. The first visit was an engine light that coded as a bad plug...at least thats what they told me. Not long after that it went in for a transmission problem...needed a new overdrive clutch (?) as there was a pronounced noise during the shift. Got it back and the noise is back in another gear. Its warranty work, so Im sure it will get done correctly. Heres the issue, as of tomorrow, my truck will have been at the dealership for 2 weeks and they havent even looked at it yet. Service guys claim that the 3 transmission bays are full (doesnt say much for Ford Transmissions) and they are going to get me in as soon as one is available. A friend of mine suggested that its "backburnered" because its warranty work...which kind of makes sense to me because on visit number 2, when I asked why it was taking so long the response I got from the service manager was "I have a waiting room full of folks with issues, plus you have another vehicle to drive" referencing my company car I get serviced there. Aside from the obvious transmissions issues, does the service environment sound right? Should it take 2 weeks or more to even get into the garage? The dealership told me the truck is driveable so I can come back and get it and not lose my place, but thats a pain arranging drop offs and pick ups....anybody have experiences like this?
Thanks

I would be calling Ford directly on this and pitch a fit. I had the run around with my 2010 Camaro SS until I call GM HQ in Detroit (not the BS Call center in the Philippines) and they had everything taken care of in a week ... they even got me the aftermarket (Retro) spoiler for me on there dime.

If you have talked to the proper chain at the dealership then definitely call Ford HQ. One question, is there an option for you to take it to another dealership? I had a similar experience with my wife's Nitro, the dealer we bought it from kept dragging their feet and not getting to my truck. I called another dealer, talked to the service manager and explained my situation. We setup an appointment, I went to the dealer to get my truck. It took a little arguing but I got it back and the new dealer had it fixed that same day. I went back to them from that point on and if I was going to buy another Dodge (not likely) I would use them. Anyone with common sense business practices realizes that if you treat someone right after the sale they will be back.

I'd echo what Snowdog said as well. Pull your truck and go to another dealer. I hate my wife and I had an experience with Subaru service that made us leave our dealer as well. It's just not the aggravation. It shouldn't matter if it's warranty work or not. You are paying good money for a vehicle and you expect it to function properly.

Hi Adkstalker.

I'd like to take a look at this for you. Can you please PM me your name, phone number, VIN, mileage, and dealer info?

Default NHTSA Vehicle Complant online info

Here is the online complaint link for the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration. Apparently there are now hundreds of complaints about the F150 EcoBoost problems, including accidents because the driveability of not only the Ford F150 pickups with the EcoBoost engines, but all Fords with the EcoBoost engines. Apparently Ford is aware of these issues but is not really doing much to fix, just keep pumping out the faulty dangerous EcoBoost engines to keep the profits up. My guess this is going to be like the Pinto and GM truck thing, people will have to die before Ford will get off their corporate dead asses, and address this ongoing issue and get it fixed, in the meantime with the lawyers getting rich.

https://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/Vehicl...nt/index.xhtml

Please file your complaint now online to hopefully the Government will force Ford to fix these continuing problems they seem to ignore.

Thanks for the kind words, Set_da_Hook. I can assist with some fun things, like tracking new truck orders, searching inventory, etc. So hopefully you won't need my service -- until you are looking for a new truck.

Hi Ashley,

First, thank you very much for reaching out. I actually contacted someone today at Ford HQ and was assigned a Customer Service Manager and a case number. They are supposed to get back to me by 8/8 after they talk with the dealership. To be honest, I like the idea that some of the other guys had about going to pick up the truck and taking it somewhere else. Thanks again

I'd suggest you look into your State's Lemon Law and be ready. Share your findings with that service mgr so he knows you're at least thinking about it and know what you're talking about. I'd bet that will build a fire under his backside.
