Stay out of boost... Winter gas lowers mpg.

Do the routine tune up and see what you get. In my research, these ecos need alot of attention to be running in tip top shape and to deliver the best mpg possible. Be advised that the consensus is that you will never get close to advertised mileage on an eco anyway

Boost :)
They don't need a lot of maintenance. I've owned 2 and have many friends with them who all get the advertised gas mileage. The most maintenance you have to do is stay vigilant with oil changes and change the spark plugs more often than most vehicles. That's it.
I would bet at 52k miles, the previous owner didn't change the plugs. I also have a 2013 and mine has 51k miles and I am on my 3rd set of plugs. Not uncommon.
Buy a set of Motorcraft SP-534 plugs, make sure they are gapped .030 - .032 and it takes a whole hour to do yourself. Put a good synthetic oil in it with a Motorcraft filter and call it good.
Your truck was probably rated 16/21 or so for mileage from Ford. With winter blend gas, you can see a drop in 1-2 mpg which during summer months would have you right where you should be for mileage. Mine has a small lift and 75 pound tires and I can still get 15mpg in city driving.
Just like any vehicle and engine, give it a little attention and care, and you will be fine.

I'd rather be sailing.
Also don't forget the gears in the rear end make a difference also! I have max tow which has 3.7's so I pay in MPG around town also!
Hmm, just rolled 30K, guess I'm doing plugs next week! LOL!

My 2011 FX4 ecoboost got about 18 mpg for the first 15-20k miles. Then it started to tank, traded it at 56k miles and it was getting 14 on its very best fill ups. The require some extra tuneups if you want to maintain good fuel economy
