Not sure what is going on with the OP's mileage. I made a little jaunt through North Georgia yesterday, little bit of interstate, city stop and go, two lane country roads, twisty mountain roads with lots of braking and accelerating, about a dozen engine offs and restarts. 23.4 mpg on the computer. Actual is usually about 5% less. After 72,900 miles in three years, the only repairs are a set of front brake pads and turning the front brake rotors. No "failures" of any kind. I'm happy with my '13 EB and will gladly buy another one in another 10 years or so when I get tired of this one.
Oh, and it still has the OEM Michelin tires on it with 5/32" tread left. Michelin and Ford have some good engineers.

It's hard for me to read these claims and reconcile them with my own experience. I'm like the OP. Best I get is about 14 L/100km (~16.8 mpg) when I'm doing all highway with a light foot.
In town it gets as bad as 21 L/100km (~11 mpg) and I average a mix of about 19 L/100km (~12.4 mpg).
I've got a FX4 SCrew w/ 3.55 gearing and extended range fuel tank. Maybe I will ask for a new tune the next time I'm at the dealer and see what they say.

This is the best I have gotten for a highway only trip, 27.0. Hand calculated usually comes up about 5% less, so it is actually about 25.7. I drive like an old man with an egg under my foot. It's a 4x2 with P metric tires.

I talked to a guy I work with, he has the ecoboost in a 2012 f150, too. He has the super crew. He told me the mileage around town is 15-17 mpg. He said on trips it really shines, up into the 20's. Actually my wife had a Mercury Mariner with the high output v6. The best mileage we ever got with that was 25-26 mpg going to Florida with the good southern gas. (gas in the north sucks). On average that vehicle got 21-22 mpg so getting 24 mpg in a full size truck like some of the photos guys have posted is fantastic . My biggest issue is my drive to work is about 11 miles. About 8-9 miles is highway, rest is city. I will never get super mileage in that kind of driving unless I have a hybrid or small car, neither one will pull a 19 ft boat ! LOL

Bumping up thread F150 vs Escape
Well I had to take the f150 back to the dealer, got a water leak directly under the floor mat. They gave a 2014 Escape with ecoboost as a loaner. When I pulled into the dealership early Friday morning I snapped a picture of the trip screen. Dropped it off and got the Escape. When I pulled in the parking lot at work I snapped a picture of it's mileage. Very surprising my little test, My truck has 70000 on it, the Escape 30000. The f150 averaged 20.1, the Escape 23.3 ! It is amazing a full size truck got only 3.2 miles less than a small sport utility or crossover or what ever they classify the Escape as.

I've driven EcoBusts, I have a good friend who is a Ford tech, and I can read the hundreds of threads full of issues with them. I don't just make uninformed posts. I didn't call the EcoBust junk. I just pointed out that it's a gimmick. Lower mileage, more issues, more cost, and barely more power to show for it. That's the facts. If you're happy, great. I'm happy with my V8.

As a 2013 Escape eco boost owner I was seriously "upset" when I found out that the MPG on that thing doesn't even come close to what was advertised for most people. Some people claim to get it, awesome for them. But when I was hunting around on the net trying to figure out what I was doing wrong I found out I wasn't the only one with this issue. I even took it back to the dealership and asked them about it. They said the computer had to learn my driving style. I took their word for it, but it never got any better.

Is anyone running a tune on their 13 Ecoboost? If so, are you getting improved MPG? I understand most add a tune for more HP and tourqe, but I'm interested in MPG.
It this point, I don't see adding CAI, that is what the stock filter box is, I have improved my exhaust system (removed resonator, changed the stock muffler, and increase the pipe size). I have changes plugs at 35,000 and I'm averaging 16.3 mpg. Curious to hear if a new tune, what tune (hoping not 93 tune), and or anything else to improve your MPG.
