Question 2012 ecoboost turbo condensation problem

Has anyone had any issues with water/condensation in the turbo's on their new Ecoboost? I was told by ford today that I had to have a wind deflector installed to remedy the problem. I had to pass a trailer quickly, and romped it to the floor, & I thought the thing had blown-up. The truck started shaking, & deaccelerating. Had to pull over & shut it down. Also the engine light was flashing the whole time. I waited about a minute, & hit the key and it has ran fine since. No engine light since then. Ford says it's fine, & that only at high rpm's, or with a hard passing downshift, could this happen again. They did say they are having issue's with this problem. The wind deflector is the fix. We'll see!

Where would they install the wind deflector? Upfront in the area that is supposed to be kept clear for air flow?

Do a search and you will find plenty of info
Just type in"Acceleration shudder diagnosed by Ford"

Exactly. The exact same place we have always been told to never cover. I'll no more about the defector when it comes in. I was told three days. I think Ford has a real problem that needs to be addressed. I'm worried a wind shield isn't a 100% fix. I love this truck, just very concerned that they can fix the problem. I'm afraid the turbo's are mounted lower than the exhaust, & condensation from the exhaust pipe lets water drain back to the turbo's. Ford just says it is from condensation because of the amount of air passing through the intercooler opening, which hit's the turbo's. Doesn't sound right to me.

Here is a proper turbo engine. Still good since 1979. Ford should have contracted with Porsche for the design. They've been "boosting" engines a long time.

I live in the Midwest with lots of hot humid days, put this on the front since day one and never had a problem. I also "blow the carbon out of it" frequently and work it hard while pulling my 5er too so that may help. I don't know...maybe just got lucky...22,500 miles trouble free miles and counting...

That's always been "good medicine". An Italian "Tune Up" is a wonderful thing.

If you baby something in an attempt to squeeze every last mpg you should consider a Prius. Otherwise drive the wheels off of and enjoy the performance!

Continued good luck!

Well so much for knocking on wood
2012 SC ,ECO, platinum,157" WB ,3.73 rear, build date 7/2012 , 1,900 miles
Went to pass a trailer had a quick shudder (1-2 seconds) and lost power. No engine light came on. Got to side of road ,hit the hazard lights, turned key off , then started back up.
Conditions were wet, temp was 55 - 60
I do have the same cover that REDONE has
