i have had my 2012 f150 into the dealer service department twice for an engine knock/rattle condition that happens occasionally during acceleration. The dealer has been unable to hear the noise and help me. It is most noticeable when accelerating at lower speeds. I am worried that i am possibly damaging my engine. has anybody had similar issues with there f150 or would know what this possibly could be? all insight and advice would help, thank you!

Your best bet is take a video and try catch that noise.

Is it under warranty? Take it and drop if off and have them drive it when the engine is cold, warmed up, etc. Dont take "we cant hear it" for an answer.

Hi Crystal, The truck has 15000 miles on it. I did not drive it when I went on vacation because I was worried about damaging it. The only problem with the truck is that when it is warm it will make a knocking noise under light acceleration. Starting to get very concerned. I would appreciate any help that you could provide. Thanks.

I have heard that a couple times on mine with under 5000 miles. Very subtle but diesel like. I haven't heard it enough to be worried about it so I just shrugged it off as normal valve train noise.

How often does yours make this noise?

I also twice heard an electric motor like noise from the center of the dash. Couldn't tell if it was inside or in the engine compartment. That was with less than 1000 miles and I haven't heard it since.
