Hey guys - I'm new to this site and just purchased a 2012 F150 Ecoboost with max towing and 373 rear. Never heard of any problems with this set up, can you enlighten me or steer me to a thread?
Just do a search on the site for "Ecoboost shudder" and you'll have about 24 hours worth of reading material. Like one of the previous posters said, there are definitely some lemons out there. The scary part is that most of the main threads on the subject (some are 150+ pages long) go all the way up until current so it's clear Ford cannot / will not solve the problem for these people. Based on everything I read it affects a small percentage of vehicles.
Jeep has as similar consumer complaint regarding "death wobble" which is 100x more noticeable/severe, but most vehicles do not have it. Only reason I mention that is I know people come to these forums (understandably) often times to discuss their problems and look for solutions. Mostly, people who do not have any problems at all don't bother coming here and posting, so when you read about these intimidating (but very real) issues, realize it's most likely a small percentage of owners.
