Are Recon products @*&#*^? I was thinking of getting their tail gate light bar.

I have read a ton of articles and blogs talking about their ability not to leak like the stock product. Not sure what there is to worry about. The seal on the light is easily 1/8" thicker than the stock lamp that came out - which literally has NO seal other than a very small piece of rubber.

One thing I do like about the stock light is that it does a pretty decent job of lighting the bed at night. I've considered changing to the Recon's due to the lower heat output of the LED's, but am concerned that they will not do as good a job of illumination.
How do you feel they stack up in that regard?

And you'd be right. LED's generally put out less overall light to start with, then throw in smoked glass. So there is definitely less light on the bed at night, so if you're someone that finds themselves loading the truck at night in a place with no light, it will be darker.
