2010 Engine Problem
Hi everyone,
I recently purchased a 2010 F150 with a 5.4L and 125,000 miles. A week after I bought it I started noticing an issue with it idling when it is warmed up. After driving around for 30-40 minutes I will pull into a parking spot and it will start ticking really loud and acts like it is going to die. If you put it in park and give it some gas it will go back to running normal. It has done this three times in a two week period. I have searched for a solution and most threads are older and for trucks with low miles. I've seen anything from it needs major engine work, to cleaning sensors, to using heavier oil.
Has anyone experienced this same issue? And is there an easy solution to fix it?

Might be sticking injectors.
Put some quality cleaner in the tank and take a ride, dropping the shifter to 3 so you're running higher RPMs and rushing fuel/cleaner through the injectors. Cheap place to start.
