Default New 2017 info

Hi all,

I am looking at getting a new 2017 and have been scouring through the posts and figured I would ask here.

I want a truck that fits 6 people, but I have noticed that only XL and XLTs come in the 6 passenger configuration, so that limits me to the niceties that come with the higher models, which sucks.
Also, I see different mention of plans (x-plan etc) I don't know what those are, but definitely looking at buying sometime when I get back from my current deployment.

Any info would be helpful

Thanks for your service.

Most of the 2017 discussion seems to happen on the 2015 + sub board:
https://www.f150forum.com/f118/

I bought my Lincoln MKS on the x-plan few years ago when my wife worked for GDIT. I don't know how to get the x-plan pricing without a company affiliation code, but if you can swing it, I think it's one of the best deals and easiest negotiations (basically none) that I've had.

I wound up using USAA's car buying service on my 2016 Platinum, which is basically truecar pricing, but then I used that as a negotiation tool at a non truecar dealership (or at least one that didn't come back on the search).

Good luck and stay safe.

You can remove the center seat from any model and put in a console yourself. Several posts on it.

Many posts on x-plan. Here's one: https://www.f150forum.com/f118/x-pla...7/#post3817839

Ford provides a rebate to military service members, and special pricing to those overseas. https://www.fordsalutesthosewhoserve.com/ I have no idea how that compares to x-plan, which is defined here: https://www.fordpartner.com/partnerw...an_invoice.pdf

I think you have me backwards. I want the seat, not the console. Can I remove the console and put in a seat?
It's just if you want a truck with all the bells and whistles the console is automatically installed. I'd like to have a fully upgraded truck but without the console so I can fit 6 people

You can get a 6 seat Lariat trim (Leather seating) since even the previous generation. But they are very rare.

I don't know how difficult it would be to mod out the center console for the center seat. I'm sure it could be done, but there is power running to it (12V plug in the console x2 and LED lighting). I think the center stack is different at the bottom too because the 6-seater models have USB and 12V at the bottom of the stack whereas the console has it in the front storage of the console.

Might want to ask yourself how often, you'll really carry 6 people and if you really want someone sitting that close to you. The console has a ridiculous amount of storage.

I want to fit the whole family when we go places like camping etc, so 6 is what I need. I agree it probably wont be that often, but would like the capability if needed. Plus, I have moved, due to the military, 10 times in 15 years, so it would be nice to have it to pull my other vehicle and have stuff in the bed.

You can order a truck with the jump seat up front in the lariat if you want, but you cannot get all the options that way. Or you can search existing vehicles on the lot for it. Go to the Ford site and build it the way you want.

As far as I know, the cheapest way to get an X-Plan PIN is to join the EAA for $40. Cheaper than joining the Mustang Club or buying 100 shares of Ford stock.

Any other ways?

A lot of corporations offer it to their employee as a benefit. I work for USAA and can get it. Buying 3 different Fords, I found I could easily get a better deal than the X plan though.
