Default 2004 5.4L MAF Sensor

Could anyone tell me where the MAF sensor is located on a 2004 f150 5.4L. I am wanting to clean it but I did not know exactly where to find it. I am sorry if there was already a forum for this but I could not find it, Thanks!

What exactly does this sensor do? Does it have any affect on gas mileage? I have a 2004 F150 5.4L Reg cab w/49k and getting 9.5 MPG. Help.

Should I remove the whole assembly and spray it down with electrical cleaner or just the plug portion?

Spray both. One with electrical cleaner and one for throttle.

Default Cleaning MAF

So to be clear (Im researching for my husband & want to be 100% sure), the piece with the electrical wires that plugs into the piece on the motor is the part that u clean with electrical cleaner and u clean the other part with that is still attached to the motor in ur pic with the other cleaner, correct?

Sorry if this sounds stupid but Im trying to help my husband fix his truck. Im doing the research (have been using this forum for the last week, very helpful!!) and he's doing the actual work on the truck.

BTW, he has the 2004 F150 5.4 engine 3 valve. Just changed the plugs (havent changed the coils yet). Still running crappy. Does not want to idle, doesnt want to run, cant drive it more than a block down the road without it acting up.

Ran a code reader on it, threw several misfire codes on the plugs, changed those (all 8) with help from this forum! Had a CamSensor code and several others. Gonna clear them and re-read them this week (waiting on payday at this point).

Any other help greatly appreciated!!
