14th Gen F-150 Worth waiting for??

Hi y'all. I'm currently in the market to replace my truck (Ram...broke more times I could count) so now I'm hopping onto the Ford banwagon. I know this current generation has been produced since late 2014 and its approaching 2019. My truck is still functional so I'm not in that much of a hurry, but would anyone recommend waiting for the new generation? There's nothing wrong with the current gens per se (I love it actually) but the interior is looking a little dated to my likings (backup camera, navigation, sync 3, etc). But another thing is this gen has been in production for SUCH a long time which also means the problems have been ironed out right? Love to get some insight on this topic.
(Side note: Has the damn frozen door lock thing been fixed yet for 2019 versions?? I live in Ottawa and travel transconteniental to BC (-20 to -35 on the daily in the winter times) often so a disfunctional door latch would be a big no no. I mean common, its been 5 years and they still have this issue? Or has it been solved ...Thanks)

My 2016 is still on and off again with the door latches, just had the fixed again. Who knows how long it will last this time.. two vids I made that might shed some light on your decision, personally despite my problems I still like the look of my truck, just not the problems I have had. But then again it may only be an isolated problem and you should base your decisions on your research 8)

I have a 2016 XLT And the back doors wouldn’t unlock when It got super cold this year. Never happened last year at all weird.
My truck is in the shop now and they said the one recall for the door latch might be related to the frozen doors Ordered parts and it’s getting fixed

Shouldn’t happen on a new truck, had a buddy get into a bad accident and totaled his truck (Silverado 18’) and all his doors open and close after lol but a little cold causes mine to not close..

Honestly, door not closing would **** me off more than door not opening. Looking at your videos and a few others it seems rare that all 4 doors would malfunction. I wouldn't mind having to climb throught the back seats or passenger side to get in but holding the door while driving soundsfrustrating as hell (especially the back ones). And why is it always the driver side door???
got to the point I would have to tie the back doors closed after getting in thru front because they would just open up ***** nilly. Luckily it hasn’t poppped open since fixed the first time but now it’s just wont close or open but at least they don’t pop open for no reason

I'll probably keep a few bungee cords and rachet straps in the back just in case something like that happens. I find it wierd that I would need to do this if I'm spending over $55k on a new truck. It's like buying something you klnow is going to break sooner or later haha. I think I'm going to go for it though, test drove the Sierra, Ram, Chevy, and Toyota but the Ford seems to have the best combination of space and features...not that other brands aren't without issues. The F-150 just seemed so much roomier inside for some reason, maybe the big sloping windows? But nevertheless it was the one I liked the most, the others were meh - GMC has a hump in the back seats and cheap looking dash (chevy was the same just worse), Ram was nice but felt too techy and reliability is questionable, Toyota was just really damn old and not really up to 2019 standards. King Ranch really fits my needs and all the towing stuff (V8, trailer brake, etc) are included in the package!
despite everything I still love my truck, like you said it feels larger, rides nicer and is just plain looks sharp..
