Default the 13th generation f150, finally has great AC.

just wanted to give some feedback most of us knew the 2014 and previous models of the 12 generation f150 had marginal AC units in them. Ford did some band aid repairs to try to make them better. just wanted to report my 2017 has great working AC. this is before the window tint job. After that it should be even better.

I'm impressed how well the AC works in the hot humid Texas weather. Probably does help to have I have the white exterior and tinted windows.

Did they?

My reg cab 2013 seems fine. I can't say it feels any different than any car I've had (mostly GM sedans and a Toyota Camry).

I don't remember much about my '85 Ranger, except that it took me all day to change the heat/defrost door actuator one day.

Sorry, but a blanket statement like that is just nonsense.

Do you really think that Ford would be able to sell a single F-150 in Phoenix (118° record), Las Vegas (116° record) and all the similar cities in the Southwest, if the A/C did not work? Not likely.

Here is what my 2010 Lariat did in 108° Las Vegas weather. In the 6+ years I owned it in Vegas, I never had the A/C touched. With 43° air at 108° outside, why would I? Geez.

2016 XLT 5.0 using R134a here.

My AC blew ice cubes in 110* heat coupled with monsoon humidity when in the Palm Desert last week.

It's amazing.

Exactly.

Both on my 2010 Lariat and now my 2016, I could park in 109° heat, in direct sun, and put it on Max Air, and 4 miles later put it on Normal/Recirc and fan speed 3. I did that 2 days ago, at the lake.

Yes, some people had A/C problems, but the vast majority did not. And the problems were mechanical, not design.

If they were design, then everybody would have the same problem.

R134A refrigerant has been used in Fords for a LONG time now. Ford didn't start using it recently.
