If I were to guess, I'd say that there was a bit of a middle finger to a certain "someone" for shutting down NASA, with this stunt....

And given their(NASA) new jobs, which involved chasing down what has become a "ghost" problem with run-a-way Toyotas... I'd say that NASA only had two options... Ford or Toyota... I assume that they picked the Toyota for that middle finger aspect...

By the way, yes, Toyota is a Japanese company.... And yes, the Tundra and it's parts are built and assembled here in the US.... and yes, it's a marketing stunt, being that they are in a US market(full size trucks)<-- nowhere else is there a full size truck market... They are not manufactured anywhere else... I own a Tundra, and on Tundra forums, people all around the world(AUS) cry day and night about not being able to get them, and/or high transport costs...

BUT, what allot of people do not pay any attention to, is that because of this, there are additional jobs right here in USA...

just saying....

Any 1/2 ton truck could have pulled it....<--tranny cooler preferred....

Still doesn't help the hideous exterior... or crap frame.

The only cool thing about the Tundra is that rear sliding window, man I wish I had one of those.

I had a Tundra. V6 pile of garbage, blew the engine at 16k miles. Had a lemon from the start which didn't help that fact. But since that truck I will not own another Toyota again.

As for the weak frame posts... Yeah, I can agree with that, but I kinda liked it doing the high speed offroading.

Now I own a 96 F150. I wouldn't trade it for anything, not even a new truck for free.

I know this is a Ford forum and I love my truck to death....but if I had the opportunity to buy one of the Toyota Hilux's that Top Gear used to drive to the North Pole I would do it in a heart beat.
They should have used that as an advertisement! Those trucks, to this day, are some of the most bad *** trucks ever built!
If you don't know what I'm talking about Google "Top Gear North Pole Special" it's a great watch.

And with that... Like I mentioned about the AUS not being offered the Tundra, the Hilux are equally cried for here in the states..... at least, that's what I get from the Toyota forums....

again...just saying
