I have a chance to get a good deal on some firestone ridetech bags. The problem is they are for a 09 and up. According to there site the frames are different and they wont work. As far as I can tell they are the same other than a hole in the backside of the frame on the 09 that the mounting tabs go into. Has anyone modified these to fit. It seems to me it has to be simple. I have a welder and torch in the garage and am a pipefitter by trade so it seems simple enoug, just looking for advice from someone who has had experience with this.

No one here has any suggestions/comments? This is a first. I guess ill have to figure this out on my own.

Should be simple if you can weld and cut steel.

I can solve that. I have a set for 04-08 That I got at a deal that won't fit my 12. Get those and we can swap.
