First off thanx to everyone who gave me some suggestion.

NEFX4
Your point of looking for a deal really hit home... I was so focused on my friends truck or buying new. I never took that step back to look at the big picture.. So since i'm not in any rush, i'm gonna start looking for that deal... After i get it, I'll post some pics... Thanx again for all the help..

Go with a new one. I set out to buy a used truck and ended up getting a new 2010 fx4 crew $10k off and a 100k warrenty

You have to understand that it is the first few oil changes that are the most critical. As the engine "breaks in" It does so literally leaving small metal particles in the oil which can do all kinds of damage. Now, for builds a great truck with little breal in time but....... Have it checked if possible. After that go with a KR.

As you mentioned w/ the oil changes and the metal shavings... I figure it would be better to stay away from the truck and not open up a can of worms and possibly a freindship. If thing did go bad, even for that price... But if i could get 10-15000 off a 2010 that might work..

Nick, best advise I ever got when purchasing my Corvette can apply to this situation also. Buy the newest vehicle you can afford.

If you can swing the Platinum, great. If not look at the Lariat or other models. I love my '10 Lariat S-crew!!!

Nick,
He's not the idiot, it is a leased truck. The idiot (unfortunate person is more correct) is the person that buys it from him.

I don't get that you only have 2 options.

Hey Marky,

I realized it, after some of the other posts, that i had more than 2 options(Had tunnel vision!!!) Now i'm looking around, possibly for something new 2010(If i can get a big enough discount) or a great used truck thats been taken care of..

Chris,
Thats some sound advice... I'm sure i can afford the platinum. But the cheap bastard in me, keeps telling me to go with a good used truck... But i sure as hell did like that 2010 platinum.. Thanx for the help..
