Just curious to how many people have locking gas caps.

And for those who do did, did you save your gas cap hanging string and reuse it on the new locking cap?

Lol I forgot about the newer models. The door still locks from the outside though correct?

The stock one doesn't. I'm not sure but there may be aftermarket locking fuel doors?

I bought the bully locking gas door assembly for my 97 a while back, I haven't had any issues with it.

I have locking ones on my dual tanks. I know it won't stop the determined thief, just the punks in a hurry.

Around here they steal fuel by drilling a hole in the tank. They steal cat converters with a sawzall.

If they want something there isn't much you can do short of 12 gauge.

I was looking at them but there $30-40 around here not worth it to me we don't have thefts often so I put the money in the tank. If you do get one don't reuse the gas cap string all they do is swing around and scratch the paint.

Had one until I accidentally ran it over. My little string didn't fit on it, but I never had problems with the cap.

dealership gave me a locking gas 'plug' with my 2011, almost the same thing as a cap but it actually fits down inside the outer tube and locks there. I'm happy with it but there is no retention lanyard.
