Updates on a revised gas engine??

I have a f150 max tow with the ecoboost motor and it does well towing around my boat and atv trailer. I do eventually want to step up to a f350 but I don't want a diesel (awesome engine just personal preference with the EPA stuff and expensive maintance). Has anyone heard if ford is planning on replacing the 6.2 with a supercharged or turbo motor? My ecoboost tuned has more power than the 6.2 and I like the low end power or turbos.

Nope. Haven't heard nothing of the sort.

They're going to offer a 3.0L diesel in the 2018 F150. This will give you the low-end "power" and will have more "power" than the 3.5L ecoboost. I know you say you don't want a diesel, but then again if you want more power, you gotta go with what options they give you.

Yea I have been hearing about that. I should of mentioned above that I am looking for the payload capacity of the f350 as well with getting a family going soon. HDPP f150 would help but I would like to have a safe buffer in capacity.

I was thinking about throwing a turbo or supercharger on the 6.2 but that cost would cover the upgrade to the diesel. Looking for factory installed and warrantied.

There has been rumblings of a 7.0l V8

*no idea on the credibility of these sources

This is a win-win for Ford. The Super Duty trucks will receive a 7.0L V8 to replace the aging 6.8L V10 motor, and then Ford will utilize the same short block and forged rotating assembly as a foundation for the new GT500 power plant. I can’t say much more, but know this V8 will feature direct injection, and some seriously high flowing heads and upper intake assembly.”
Our source continues: “I could go on and on about the liberal use of carbon composite materials, active aero, aluminum and the new 10-speed transmission, but it’s best that we don’t divulge too much. Just know that you will see this car debut sooner than you think.”

Brian Maxim, a vice president at AutoForecast Solutions, said in a telephone interview that the 7.0-liter, V8 engine would have more torque and be more fuel efficient than the 6.8-liter V10 engine now built in Windsor and used in Ford's super-duty trucks, such as its F-250s.
