So, I ordered a F250 with the Trailer TPMS option. It says, “customer installed accessory”. Is anyone familiar with this install? As I understand it, I will have to have the valve stems replaced in the trailer tires. The attached picture is from the Ford Accessory site and shows everything included in the kit. I’m wondering what will be required of me. I’m very excited about this option if it works as I expect it to. Well worth the $500 if it gives me some advance notice before the tire starts to shred apart and damage a fender like it usually does.
I assume once installed and your trailer is hooked up, your truck will give you instructions on how to calibrate? Much like if you have to replace a TPMS sensor on your stock wheels for any reason?
This is a bad-*** accessory...please keep us informed as to how it works, what it took to set up, etc.
