The extra weight wouldn't bother me at all, but the only thing I miss about my F-150 is the 36 gallon tank. Unhooked I don't mind the 26 gallon tank in my SD (300-350 mi range), but it's not real fun looking for a gas station every 200 miles when towing. Also have no desire to spend $1000 on an Aux tank.

And, out west, diesel stations are less frequent and usually more congested.

Price is also a factor. You put a little extra time and distance into filling up that 55gal tank for the cheapest cost in your area and don't have a pay larger premiums along the way for your trip. Depending on distance traveling, you may do your whole towing trip (both ways) on a single tank which is more convenient.

I'm about to purchase a 2008 F250 with the V10 engine. Any potential regrets? I'll still have my 2015 for another year or so but it doesn't do well with my enclosed.

the big tank is the best reason to walk past the short bed trucks and go with the 8 footer. My 03 F250 CCLB had the 36 gallon tank in it and my 08 450 had the 36 gal but I replaced it with a Titan 60gal. Nothing like seeing $200 on a diesel pump. My 150 is a 36 and won't look at anything less.
