21 mpg? What kind of driving netted you that? Any mods to the truck? I'm looking at the Super Duty gas; though, I don't tow hardly any so I don't need that sort of torque from the diesel.

That's great mileage. This thread is the reason I am bypassing the F150 and going with the SD F250....grr! Being a similar price, seems like a good choice.

Its look you all have a a good experience of the engine and its quirks.Yes, the EGR was being dumped behind the valves without any fuel cleaning off them. The oil catch can was to cure that the carbon buildup. When they fixed it, that is excellent for longevity of the engine but still some people don't like their engines eating their own farts. It's really up to you personally at this point as well as your taste.
