SD capable?
Would a SD gasser pull this guy out? Or is this a situation for one of those big redneck trucks on 40 inch tires LOL
Reason I'm asking is I've been seeing a lot of these posts lately on my local Facebook page and I wouldn't mind helping some people out, but don't really know how far I can push my truck.

Are you experienced in doing so, with the proper strap, attachment points, and knowledge on procedure? Since you asked, the answer is likely no.
I bought a CJ-7 in 1980 and a strap. Still have the strap today. I have used it (the strap) a few times, nothing like that, would not even try. Tow trucks are equipped to assist idiots. Good Samaritans help stranded people, but ruined trucks such as that are nothing to be attempted. It is already totalled.

Oh please I've pulled out worse with my jeep. I've pulled hummers that where dead and hydrolocked out of mud and water to the center of their windshields. And they where running 35s. That's a stock Frontier and if you have good traction that's an easy ****** job
For me it's not matter of "if" you could, more a matter of if you want to attempt it or not.
Like was said above, a super duty or less should be able to pull that out no problem if they have the traction. I've seen worse pulled out by way less truck.

That's the point. His truck is buried in water and likely totalled. Risking damage to your vehicle would be pointless, especially when you have no experience doing this. There is a right way, and a wrong way. Do it wrong and damage can occur and people can get hurt.
If your rig had a winch it would be much easier. Tie your hind end to a tree and have at it. I never understand why people go mudding without a winch. They knowingly put their truck into situations they shouldn't be and expect others to bail them out.
